MEDICA 2025 is behind us. Good discussions, inspiring presentations, making and maintaining contacts - for four days in November, the entire world of medical technology came together at the trade fair in Düsseldorf.

MEDICA 2025 was dominated by three hot topics: AI & genAI, robotics & automation and integrated care & telemedicine. Visitors were able to experience these topics not only at the exhibitors' stands, where the latest products were presented. They were also omnipresent in the trade fair's supporting program – the forums and conferences.

MEDICA is positioning itself against the skills shortage in the healthcare sector. AI and genAI: smart medicine starts here

AI models have the potential to fundamentally change medicine. They analyze large amounts of data in diagnostics and imaging, accelerate diagnoses and support doctors in making decisions.

In the future, AI models will become increasingly important as assistance systems: in clinics and surgeries, they help with documentation as well as personnel and resource planning. The multimodal evaluation of patient data (imaging, genetics, laboratory findings, monitoring, etc.) creates new opportunities for personalized medicine and prevention.

Robotics: precision in motion

Robots and automated systems are already supporting operating theaters, nursing, rehabilitation and laboratories. They work precisely, take over monotonous or stressful tasks and thus relieve the burden on staff while making patient care more efficient.

Telemedicine: medicine without borders

Telemedicine improves access to healthcare: since the coronavirus pandemic, video consultations, remote monitoring and digital services have become increasingly important and enable flexible care close to home.

With increased connectivity and smart technologies such as AI, IoT (wearables, smart devices) and digital healthcare services, telemedicine will support continuous care at home - relieving capacity, reducing waiting times and making care more efficient and patient-centered.

The competitions

The two competitions that take place in the MEDICA INNOVATION FORUM are a real crowd puller at MEDICA every year. Start-ups and scale-ups are given the opportunity to present their solutions in a pitch to a jury of experts and a broad audience in the forum, which was able to award a public vote prize for the first time this year.

In addition to prize money, the winners also received global visibility through the MEDICA channels as well as valuable support in the areas of marketing, consulting and networking.
