Development of the wound therapy system CNP-P3 by Lohmann & Rauscher

With the Suprasorb® CNP P3, Lohmann & Rauscher (L & R) is launching a cutting-edge technology that sets new standards in wound care.

The negative pressure therapy is used after analysis of the wound situation when the methods of the classical wound care do not appear sufficient. Areas of use are e.g. acute wounds, postoperatively infected wounds, burns and chronic wounds such as decubitus or ulcus cruris venosum. After wound cleansing, the doctor will choose a suitable wound filler (wound foam or antimicrobial gauze) to subsequently seal the area with a film dressing, connect via a drain to the Suprasorb CNP Therapy Unit, and start the treatment. The resulting negative pressure causes exudate - harmful fluids and infectious material - to be transported out of the wound. Practice shows that negative pressure therapy can lead to more effective wound healing and an accelerated wound closure in the patient.

Ease of use and ergonomics are important quality features of medical devices. Nowak Engineering places great emphasis on this. The development of a better man-machine interface brings the avoidance of user errors into the foreground. An elaborate GUI (Graphical User Interface) allows a high level of user-friendliness and simple operation.

This product was developed by Nowak Engineering in close cooperation with the client, a design company and an electronics partner.
