Disaster medicine: dealing with infections

Malaria, measles or Ebola, they all have one thing in common: they are infectious diseases. In many regions of the world people are particularly vulnerable because of poor living conditions, insufficient hygiene and lacking medical care - either because of wars, crises, disasters or poverty. How do physicians deal with diseases in disaster areas, which are either commonplace or not found in the western world? What circumstances do they have to deal with and what available resources do they have to get by?
